Being a cold, rainy day, the weather itself seemed to be one with Roger's family as it securely wrapped them in its tears. Roger's wife, looking as beautiful as ever, arrived at Rose Hills Cemetery with her family. There to receive them were extended family and longtime friends.

The Nelson's clergyman, Reverend Frank Nausin, conducted a comforting and inspiring religious service, including a reading of the 23rd Psalm, a blessing from Numbers 6:24-26, and an opportunity for all to unite in praying the prayer taught by Christ himself, the Lord's Prayer as found in Matthew 6:9-13. It was a fitting service for goodly and well-loved man.

Then Roger's loved ones in turn spoke beautifully honoring Roger with special memories and words of love. A tribute was given to Roger's sister, Grace, whose funeral was held the very day that Roger died.

It was a cold, wet and shivery day, but as the resting place of Roger Nelson was tenderly dedicated, the hearts of the family & friends could not have been warmed more throughly. (By grandniece Susan)
