He is found in Crawford Co., IL in 1820 and 1830. The census of 1835 shows the family in Putman Co. Illinois, which is where he is until his death 2 Dec. 1860.
Moses and Sarah E. Murphy had the following children: William M., Arter, Braxton, Elizabeth, John, Mary Elizabeth, Sarah, Jeremiah, Moses Jr. and James.
After Moses's death, Sarah is found in Crawford Co., Kansas with a son and family.
The Murphfey marker was found buried on Moses farm in Putnam Co., IL.
