Clarence Peter Modaff, age 75, of rural Edgerton, WI died unexpectedly on January 1, 2004 at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI. He was born February 3, 1928 in Wheaton, IL, the son of Philip and Margaret nee Fortman Modaff. He married Delores Baker on Thanksgiving day, November 23, 1950 at St. Irene Church in Warrenville. Lifelong dairy farmer, he farmed in Wheaton until August 24, 1974 when they moved to the farm near Edgerton, WI. Clarence was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Evansville, a third degree member of Knights of Columbus, has been a member of the farm bureau and on its board of directors since 1975. He will be remembered by his family as a very kind and gentle man.
    Clarence is survived by his wife Delores of Edgerton, father of Robert and James of Edgerton, Richard (Kris) of Evansville, Donald (Renee) of Louisville, KY and Mary Modaff of Madison, WI. Brother of Ed and Don of Aurora, IL, John of Asheville, NC, Esther Trompeter of Glen Ellyn, Louise (Chuck) Duetch of West Chicago and Florence Schmidt of Montgomery. Grandfather of Tiffany, Anthony and Hannah.
    Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Anna Hoffman, Cora Baumam and a brother Raymond Modaff.
    Visitation Tuesday, January 6, 3-8 p.m. at Williams Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton (1 bl. east of Naperville Road). Visitation Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass 10:30 a.m. at St. Irene Church Warrenville. Rev. James Antiporek officiating.
