Edward M. Modaff, 85, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Countryside Care Center. He was born April 8, 1923, in Belquade [sic, recte Belgrade], MN. Edward was a member of Annunciation Church and lived in Aurora since 1952. He is survived by his two daughters, Phyllis (Roland II) Snyder and Carol Lentz both of Aurora; his son, John (Ruth) Modaff of St. Petersburg, Florida; his grandchildren, Craig (Leslie) Modaff of Colorado Springs, CO, Steve (Libby) Snyder of Peoria, IL, Doug (Lynelle) Snyder of Elgin, MN, John Snyder of Aurora, Amanda Snyder of Aurora, and Dave (Michelle) Modaff of Aurora; his great-grandchildren, Isabelle Snyder, Elijah Snyder, Luca Snyder, Milo Snyder, Cecily Snyder, and Josiah Modaff; his brothers, Don (Marg) Modaff of Aurora and John W. (Betty) Modaff of North Carolina; his sister, Florence Schmidt of Aurora; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Modaff; his parents, Margaret (Fortman) and Philip Modaff; his sisters, Ann (Lawrence) Hoffman, Cora (John) Baumann, Louise Deutsch, and Esther (Henry) Trompeter; his brothers, Ray and Clarence Modaff; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Don Soderdahl, Glen and Helen Anderson, Leroy and Sue Soderdahl, Ken Soderdahl, Cliff Hanson, Bruno Seraphin, Ken Schmidt, and Agnes Theis. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at 11:30am from The Daleiden Mortuary to Annunciation Church at 12:00 pm. Fr. Mario Pedi, O.S.B. will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery.
