The death date of May 9th on the stone is incorrect based on other sources. It was reported on Friday, 9 May that she was seriously ill. Two other newspapers reported her death as Saturday 10th May with funeral held on Sunday 11th May. Her age was reported as 72 and as 74, both in conflict with date on stone. Her birth day may be incorrect as well depending on what date was used to calculate her age 71y, 8m, 26d.

She was the wife of Jefferson Bazel "Bass" Farr (a brother to Lewis R. Farr also buried here.)
Calculated birth date. Age 71 yrs. 9 mos. 28 days.

Her name is found variously spelled Schaffer, Shaffer and as Shaver. **If you have a maiden name change, please provide documentation.

There is no documentation that supports her husband Bazil being buried in this cemetery, or that he even died in Kansas. His probate was in North Carolina, which suggests he may have died in NC and his wife came to Kansas afterwards.
