Grandpa Thomas is buried in an old family graveyard way back off the road in rural Cleveland County, the stone I photographed many, many years ago with a date scratched onto its face is the only marker. There is no modern day marker for for our ancestor and I believe it is fitting to leave it that way as someone very lovingly carved his date of death into this stone to commemorate the date they lost their father. I respect that.
Someday, either I or someone else will post a better photo of the stone, in the meantime, he lies with his family, undisturbed except for the sounds of farm life. We have been promised by the owners that the burial grounds will go undisturbed any further and we trust them to keep that promise.
