George was a very properous farmer in Townsend Township. He wrote the Burdue family biography in W. W. Williams' book about Huron County families. He was also a teacher. In fact, the community looked to the Burdue family to provide their teaching staff. He married Susan Hill November 20, 1838 in Townsend Township. He was a very loving father to his children Moses William and Susan Elizabeth. He died of heart disease.
