Josephine Ellison Dolton was born in Marlborough, OH Sept. 30, 1855, and died at her home near Yukon, Sept. 11, 1928, aged 72 yrs, 11 mo's, and 11 dys.
At the age of 12 yrs, she came with her parents to Jefferson county, KS. She was united in marriage to Theron Eugene Dolton Aug. 20. 1873, and moved to Dickinson county, KS and settled on a homestead near Chapman, KS, resided there until 1909 when the family moved to Yukon, OK, their present home.
Early in life she united with the Grace M. E. church of Rhinehart, of which she was a faithful member until her death.
To this union there were born 12 children, three having preceded her in death. Those who survive her are her husband, T. E. Dolton; Mrs. Cora Loy of Hollywood, CA; Mrs. Ada McComas, Holly, CO; Charles of Enterprise, KS; Harry Dolton, Carl Dolton, Junction City, KS; Minnie Schlappie, Junction City, KS; Jennie Taylor, Junction City, KS; James and (Walter) Scott Dolton of Yukon, OK. There are 41 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Three brother, E. B. Ellison of Yukon, OK; Harry and Walter of Anadarko, OK; and many other relatives and friends who regret her departure from this earth to the better home where sickness and pain are no more.
Funeral services were held at her home near Yukon at 4 p.m. after which the remains were taken to Junction City, KS and services were held at the Grace M. E. church at 3:30 p.m. and was laid to rest in the Rhinehart cemetery beside her three children.
