William Robert Oliphant, 71, died Thursday May 31st at 1:00 a.m. at his home near Harrisonburg, La., after a lingering illness.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Oliphant; three sons, Elmer Oliphant, Epps, La., Melton Oliphant, Glena Park, Tex., Robert Oliphant, Harrisonburg, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Cleo Holcy, Harrisonburg, La., Mrs. Golda Crawford, Freeport, Tex., and Mrs. Lois Fluitt, West Monroe, La.
Funeral services under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday, La., were held Friday, June 1, at the Harrisonburg Baptist Church with the Rev. R. U. Ferguson officiating.
Active pallbearers were Charlie Pool, Owen Bankston, C. C. Finley, Harris Finley, Marshall Bankston, and Johnnie Stuttson.
