FERRIDAY, June 15 — (Special) — Funeral services for Albert O. Oliphant, 83, of Catahoula parish, who died Monday night in a Natchez, Miss. hospital after a short illness were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Old Catahoula Baptist Church.

Rev. Johnston, of Natchez, assisted by Rev. J. C. Cruse of Enterprise, officiated at the services and interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Fannie Oliphant; two sons, Barney Oliphant of Shreveport and Oscar Oliphant of Natchez; three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Cotton of Ferriday, and Mrs. Mabel Miles and Mrs. Ora Hackney, both of Harrisonburg; one brother, Bryant Blackwell [sic Brian Blackmon] of Columbia; and two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Rushing of Columbia and Mrs. Martha Watts of Monroe.

Pallbearers were W. P. Berry, George McGee, Ernest Guinn, Emmett Johnson, Jess Beasley and Johnny Stupson.
