MRS. AGNES HAMMEL SMITH

Agnes Hammel Smith was born in Hartford township, Mich., April 26, 1866, and died July 20, 1917, at her late home west of the village, aged 51 years, 2 months and 24 days. She had been a resident of Hartford all her life, except a few years spent in Kalamazoo.

She was married to William Smith, July 8, 1916, and but for her last sickness passed one of the happiest years of her life, being cared for through the long months of suffering most tenderly by her husband.

She leaves a husband, three brothers, one sister, one niece, and two nephews: Azur Hammel of Hartford, John Hammel of Watervliet, Olie Hammel of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Alberta Hammel of Hartford, Mrs. Fred Appleby of Kalamazoo, Dr. Harry Hammel of Tecumseh, Mich., and Glen Hammel of Hartford, and a host of friends who will miss her happy and pleasing friendship.

Funeral services for her were attended at the home Sunday afternoon, Rev. J. S. Hamilton officiating, and interment took place at the old cemetery.
