Nancy Kate DeArmond Eck 72 of Amarillo died Saturday December 17, 2011.

Services will be at 10 AM Tuesday in Griggs Schooler Gordon Pioneer Chapel with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Entombment in Memorial Park Cemetery

Nancy was born July 25, 1939 in Booker to Albert and Bernice DeArmond. She worked and retired as a receptionist for more than 20 years at Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic which she enjoyed meeting and talking with all the patients. Nancy enjoyed her children, grandchildren, pets and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband Jimmie Eck; a son Mike Grounds and wife Tammy of Silsbee; three daughters: Kim Grounds Skipworth and husband Drew of Amarillo, Dana Grounds Calton and husband Michael of Joshua and Michelle Grounds Stone and husband Shawn of Sharpsburg, Georgia; a stepdaughter Sharalynn Horton of Amarillo; a sister Carole Smith and husband David of Sherman; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

The family will receive guests from 5 to 7 PM today at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials be to Country Club Manor Nursing and Rehab 9 Medical DriveAmarillo, Texas 79106; Interim Hospice 1901 Medi Park Drive No. 1058 Amarillo, Texas 79106; or your local Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
