Funeral services for Jack DeArmond, 72, of Levelland will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 at Austin St. Church of Christ in Levelland with Jay Kelly, minister, and Rev. Bruce Cotton, chaplain, Hospice of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home of Levelland. He died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Lynwood Manor in Levelland.

Born on July 27, 1935 in Spearman to Albert Jack and Bernice Raney DeArmond, he moved to Levelland in 1939. He graduated from Levelland High School and went to work for Sitton Drilling Company in 1958. He was a ham radio operator and was active with the American Cancer Society. He married Vonnie Riley on April 22, 1954 in Levelland. He was a member of Austin Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1944; his mother in 1992; a son, Derl Alton DeArmond in 1982; and a brother, Jesse DeArmond.
