Elsena "Sena" Johanna Aden, 95, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died December 16, 2011 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE. Sena was born April 30, 1916 in Gothenburg, NE, to Fred and Alma (Stevens) Franzen.

Sena grew up north of Gothenburg were she attended country school thru the 7th grade. She then went directly into High School in Gothenburg where she graduated in 1933.

Sena married Virgil R. Aden on Feb. 19, 1936 at Zion Lutheran Church. To this union two children were born: Joyce and Dwaine. Virgil and Sena lived and farmed north of Gothenburg until moving to Gothenburg in 1980. She was a homemaker and worked at the Larsen & Patterson Jewelry Store for many years.

Sena was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and American Lutheran Church were she was involved in women's circle and quilting groups. She was also a member of several dance clubs. She enjoyed her family, flower and vegetable gardens, raising chickens, and short drives around Gothenburg.

Surviving are son, Dwaine (Nancy) Aden of Gothenburg; Daughter Joyce (Doug) Schuldt of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Sena was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Aden, her parents and two sisters Mable Kuhlman and Alvina Aden.

Burial was in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, NE.
