Alvina S. Aden, 97, of Gothenburg, passed away on May 25, 2009, at the Gothenburg Hospital Long Term in Gothenburg.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1912, to Fred and Alma (Stevens) Franzen at Gothenburg.
On Jan. 10, 1932, she married Victor Aden at the Zion Lutheran Church, Gothenburg.
Alvina and Victor made their home on the family farm north of Gothenburg. They lived on the farm until 1965 when they moved into Gothenburg.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church and served on various committees for ALCW. She enjoyed playing Bridge.
Alvina is survived by her son, Romaine (Joan) Aden of Gothenburg; son-in-law, Roland (Norma) Lauer of Gothenburg, granddaughters, Debra (David) Hackbart of Maple Grove, Minn., Cynthia Lauer of New Hope, Pa., Carolyn (Don) Schuster of Rogers, Minn.; grandsons, Shane (Sherri) Aden of Gothenburg, Tim (Tracy) Lauer of Gothenburg, Matt (Laura) Lauer; sister, Sena (Virgil) Aden of Gothenburg; sister-in-laws, Lena Aden of Gothenburg, Katherine Aden of Gothenburg; 17 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Victor E. Aden, daughter, Joleen Carolyn Lauer, and a sister, Mable Kuhlman.
Visitation will be today, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg.
Services will be on Thursday, May 28, 2 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg with Pastor Matthew Groenke and Lonna Grabenstein, PMA, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lutheran Church, Gothenburg.
