WASHINGTON – Michael Lee Brashers, 61, of Washington, IL, died at 9:35 pm Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at ManorCare at Riverview in East Peoria, IL. Born on April 24, 1950 in Springfield, MO to Roy Lee and Erma Jean Ragsdale Brashers, he married Beth Wright on December 27, 1970 at Roland Manor Baptist Church in Washington. She survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters; Tammy (Mark) Stone of Frisco, TX and Heidi (Eric) LeCrone of Decatur, IL, 6 grandchildren; Rebecca, Tylar, Grant, Brooke, Melissa, and Cassie, 1 sister; Debbie (Mike) Hargis of Washington, IL, and 1 sister-in-law; Becky Brashers, of Washington, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Jim. Mike retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in June of 2005, where he worked in the Machine Shop and in Security. He also was a dedicated volunteer with Northern Tazewell Fire and Rescue for more than 10 years. He was a member of Roland Manor Baptist Church in Washington, where he had served as a Deacon. He was a HAM radio enthusiast and had his pilots license. Services for Mike will be at 11 am Monday, December 19, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Steve Hardin will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
