John J. Steiger
John Jacob Steiger, 91, of 247 Maple Ave., died at 8:30 a.m. today at Ephraim McDowell Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Steiger was retired having served 41 years as superintendent of Buildings and Grounds at Centre College.
He was born Oct. 27, 1886, in Bern, Switzerland. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lena Steiger; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Yeider of Yountville, Calif, and Mrs. Harold M. (Ann) Rice of Dunedin, Fla.; one half-sister, Mrs. J.P. Smith of Laguna Hills, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
The body is at Stith Funeral Home and friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Friends may call at Stith Funeral Home.
The family requests that expression of sympathy take the form of donations to the Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

Serving as pallbearers for the funeral of John Jacob Steiger, 91, of 247 Maple Ave., were Robert Tarkington, Willis Hankla, John Rice, William Rice, Don Yeider, C.T. Hazelrigg, Edward Rail and Jack Ritter.
The funeral was held Saturday at the Presbyterian Church with burial in Bellevue Cemetery.
Mr. Steiger died Thursday morning at Ephraim McDowell Memorial Hospital, Danville. Stith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
