Druery Houston, son of Andrew Jackson and Sarah Jane Houston, was born in East Bend township, Champaign County, May 25, 1881, and died at his home a mile west of Elliott on Route 9, on October 7, 1933, at the age of 52 years 5 months 12 days. On August 19, 1918, he was married to Mildred Reeder, and to this union were born 7 children: Eugene, George, Thomas, June, and Robert, two dying in infancy. His entire life was spent near Fisher until he moved the first time to this vicinity in the spring of 1928. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, 4 sons, 1 daughter, 1 sister, and many other relatives and friends. Brothers Jasper, Sheridan, and Logan, and sister Eva, preceded him in death, as did also 2 brothers and 3 sisters who died in infancy. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, and a courtege of 64 cars followed him to the grave in the Blackford cemetery. Relatives who came from a distance were Mr. & Mrs. O. B. Reeder & son, Mrs. A. M.
