MULLINS - Nancy Cecilia Buffkin, 2 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Buffkin, died of a rare type of meningitis yesterday at Babies Hospital, Wrightsville Sound, N.C., after an illness of six weeks. It is understood that there are only 38 cases of the disease on record. It was thought at first that the child might be the victim of polio.
Funeral services will be held at the Mullins Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. B. P. Upchurch in charge. Burial will be at Cedardale Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, her mother being the former Miss Dixie Lee of Olanta, surviving are two sisters, Misses Dixie Lee and June Buffkin; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. W. F. Lee of Olanta; and her paternal grandfather, A. B. Buffkin of Mullins.
