As an independant woman of 15 she married Peter Petersen Rosenkrantz in Manti, Utah, in 1913. Census records indicate that prior to Peter's death Lilly bore seven children: Violet, Carraff "Gail", Reva, Virginia, Bertha, Marial, and Claud "Larry."
In December of 1927 Lilly married Michael Charles Van Detta in Farmington, Utah. They adopted two more children, Deeda and Grant.
