Mr. L. G. Marple of Fredericktown received a telephone message from Columbus last evening telling of the death of Mrs. Laura Edwards, wife of L. D. Edwards. She was 52 years of age. Mrs. Edwards was well known in Mt. Vernon having moved here from Fredericktown several years ago, prior to moving to Columbus. Mrs. Edwards, whose maiden name was Laura Graham, was born in Mt. Vernon. Her grandparents lived on the Martinsburg road, about four miles out from Mt. Vernon. Her father, John Graham, conducted a grocery here for years and also ran the Commercial House for a number of years, going from here to Mt. Vernon and later to Columbus. She and her husband conducted a rooming house on East Gambier street during their stay in this city. Her husband was the publisher of the Fredericktown Free Press for several years while they resided in that village. Besides her husband, Mrs. Edwards is survived by three sons, Dr. Glenn, of Willard, Ohio; Mack of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Fred of Columbus. One sister, Mrs. Morgan Lafever of Fredericktown, also survives. The husband, L. B., Dr. Glenn Edwards and wife of Willard, Fred Edwards and wife, and Mrs. Kate Welsh of Columbus will accompany the remains here. McKendree Fremont the other son, was confined in his home in Pittsburgh by illness and did not know of his mother's death. The remains will be taken to Fredericktown Sunday noon and removed to the home of Mr. Marple where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. E. Stockdale of the M. E. church, and interment will be made in Forest cemetery. Mr. Marple is a first cousin of Mr. Edwards.
