Tony's parents moved to Natchez from Dallas, Texas, in 1948 and they are both buried there. His mother passed in 1972 and his Dad sold their house and moved back to Dallas since that was where most of his business was. He died there in 1982 and the family took him back to Natchez for burial. Oddly enough Tony was in the Army when his folks moved to Natchez and had retired from the Air Force in the summer of 1972. Tony moved to Japan in mid 2005. Tonys wife past away last year on March 6th from Stage IV lung cancer. He also lost his son on August 23rd.
Almost 50 years ago, a young American Air Force Lieutenant named Anthony Miller, while on a tour of duty in Japan, met and fell in love with a tiny little Japanese girl named Chizuko Okazawa. They married on September 10, 1956 and Chizuko promptly proceeded to follow her fellow all over the world while he continued his career in the US Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, they settled in Calabasas, California where Tony continued his career as an engineer. Finally, 22 years after moving to Calabasas, Tony decided to take Chizuko home to Japan for their 50th anniversary. Now many couples take a trip for their 50th wedding anniversary, but not many men would pack up and move everything and settle in Japan as a special gift! They have purchased a beautiful home on the side of a mountain overlooking one of the most beautiful bays in the world! A tribute to him by Annie G. is found here
