Lonnie Ray Bishop, 28, of Gatesville died Wednesday at Scott and White Hospital in Temple after a long illness.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Scott's Chapel in Gatesville, the Rev. Gene York and Minister Ron Briley officiating. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery.

Mr. Bishop was born Nov 25, 1951, at Oglesby, son of Wedith and Corine Bishop. He was reared and attended schools in the Gatesville area.

He served briefly in the Navy. On March 14, 1970, he married Miss Addie Ferguson. They lived in Big Lake and Ballanger before moving back to Gatesville about a year and a half ago.

He wss employed by E. A. Holder as a truck driver before he became ill in December 1979.

Survivors include his wife, Corine: two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Bishop and Laura Lee Bishop, both of Gatesville; two sons, Lonnie Bishop, Jr. and Howard Ray Bishop, both of Gatesville; four brothers, Wedith Bishop, Jr. of Midland, Jessie Bishop of Big Lake, Tommy Bishop of Belton, and William Bishop of Gatesville; four sisters, Margaret Hines of Gatesille, Dorothy Jolly of Brady, and Sybil Harper and Hershall Jackson, both of Belton; and a maternal grand-mother, Mrs. Gertrude Gartrell of Ballinger.
