Dies On 80th Birthday Anniversary
Seriously ill for the past nine weeks, Mrs. Caroline Cook, widow of the late Cornelius Cook, died on her 80th birthday anniversary early Wednesday afternoon at the Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis.
She had been at the hospital for the past week. Death resulted from a bowel obstruction. She succumbed at 2:45 o'clock.
Services will be conducted at the Bargersville Christian Church here at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, and burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the late residence in Bargersville, Friday afternoon and evening.
Mrs. Cook was born in Johnson County on September 16, 1862, one of eight children of Christopher and Arthusa (Robards) Doty. Her entire life had been spent in and near Bargersville. She was married to Mr. Cook in 1886, and he passed away in 1928. The couple had four children, two of whom are living.
They are Mrs. Walter Gates, of Bargersville, and Chester Cook, of Indianapolis. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Kate Mathena of Bargersville, a brother, Lewis Doty, of Randles, Missouri, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cook was a faithful member of the Christian Church here. Before his death, Mr. Cook was a farmer.
