Randles, May 25. - Mrs. Malissy G. Groseclose Bester, 81 years old, died at the home of her son, Lester H. Groseclose, here Tuesday night, of chronic nephritis. Funeral services will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Groseclose in Randles at 10 o'clock Thursday morning and burial will be in Lorimier cemetery at Cape Girardeau. The body will be removed from the Bisplinghoff-Hubbard Funeral Home in Chaffee to the residence late today.
Mrs. Bester, formerly Miss Doty, was born in Johnson County, Indiana, Oct. 1, 1856, and was married in Indiana to W. H. Groseclose. They came to Randles in 1890 where he engaged in the lumber and sawmill business. He died in 1903 and some years later she married Wm. G. Bester, who also has passed away.
Mrs. Bester is survived by three sons, Otis, Lester H. and John A. Groseclose of Randles; a daughter, Mrs. Ada Baker of Illmo; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Cook and Mrs. Ira Mathena of Bargersville, Ind.; and a brother, Lewis Doty, of Randles.
