Thanks to the Busby family:
As soon as James and Carrie were married they moved immediately to Edison, Furnas, Nebraska and they lived there for 6 years. They were baptized into the Church Of Christ of Edison, Nebraska in 1889. Charles, Mary, Nora and Nellie were all born in Edison, Furnas, Nebraska.
In 1892 they moved to St. Francis, Kansas and then later homesteaded their land at Lansing Valley. Legal description - SW1/4 E1/2 NW1/4 of section 4, 4S 42W and N1/2 NW1/4 of section 9,4S,42W.
The Yuma County Record books showed that this land was advertised in 1906-1910. In 1912 and 1926 James Busby paid the taxes on 360 acres.
They had a sod house at first and later built a wood house that was moved across the creek to the east by Henry & John Schultz.
