From there he moved to St. Paul by the time he was 24, and was working as a Compositor at Pioneer Press Co. He married Bessie Tillander [Thelander] in June of 1890 in Cannon Falls. In 1895 his occupationn was a painter. By 1900 Oscar and Bessie had moved to Washington State. They first rented a house on Riverside Ave, then went on to purchase a house located at South 619 Pine Street where they raised their family. Oscar became a Cigar Merchant, with his own store, later on in life he became a "Stationary Engineer" or janitor at the local public schools. He passed away at the age of 77 in Spokane, Bessie to follow a few years later.
Oscar and Bessie had 3 Children, Earl who died within the first year of his life, Louise Eva who married John McKay [MacKay], and Otis Edward who married Sophie Irene Thorson.
