Rosa Lee Fechner-Eaton was born in the lower Volga River area in Russia on January 25, 1900. There
was about 8,000 German settlers in this area at the time. About 1907 Rosa & her parents moved to the
United States in Western Oklahoma Territory, Southwest of Shattuck near the village of Goodwin, Oklahoma. On Rosa's 23rd birthday she married business man Rayfield Foresman in Gate, Oklahoma,
where he managed a grain elevator. He was a widower of 3 small children. They had twin daughters of their own, Ellen Leona, and Carmen Louise. Sadly Mr. Foresman passed away on October 1, 1929.
On February 19, 1931, Rosa married Ralph Eaton in Rosston, Oklahoma and they remained in Gate, Oklahoma where they owned and operated The Rosa Lee Café. The Cafe is known far and wide to all
highway travelers of US '64. The Cafe was still operating 70 years later in Gate, Oklahoma.
