Held Last Rites For Edward Fechner Mon
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 p m for Edward Fechner who passed away last Wednesday Feb 25 at the Cashmere Rest Home at the age of 63. Mr. Fechner was born on July 20, 1889 in Russia. He came to the United States at the age of 14 and settled in South Dakota on June 8, 1911. It was there he was united in marriage to Emma Roessler at Tripp, South Dakota and lived there until coming to Cashmere in 1942. Mr. Fechner was employed by the M&M Chevrolet garage until ill health forced his retirement. Mr. Fechner was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He is survived by his wife, Emma, 6 sons, 8 daughters, 2 sisters and 3 brothers, together with 16 grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the Kuelbs and Braun Funeral Chapel with the Rev. O. B. Reitz officiating. During the services John Simpson sang accompanied by Clarence Schopp and burial took place in the Cashmere cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Peter Olson, Ray Bourne, Jim Parkins, Earl Tilley, Jim McKellar and G. S. Riggleman.
