Margaret Carney Baker, 88, of Springfield died Friday at St. John's Hospital.
She was born Aug. 23, 1908, in Christian County, the daughter of John W. and Elizabeth Sheedy Carney.
She married Lawrence Baker in 1939 in Springfield.
Mrs. Baker was a former employee of the American Red Cross in St. Louis and Allis Chalmers in Springfield.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a past president of the Women's Club of Springfield.
Survivors: husband, Lawrence Baker; two brothers, John Carney of Springfield and James Carney of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a sister, Lucille Jordan of Farmersville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. Monday, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Rev. Charles Mulcrone officiating.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
