All Mourn Death of Mrs Fordyce

Funeral services were held last Sunday afternon at 2 o'clock for Mrs C M Fordyce, whose death occurred on the previous Friday noon at her home in Gillette. Rev Geo Gibson conducted the services and interment was made in Mt Pisgah cemetery.

Mrs Fordyce had been ill for just a week when death came. Emma Elzira Greer Fordyce, was born on Dec 16th, 1871, in Wayne county, Iowa, the daughter of James and Mary Greer. After reaching womanhood, she was united in marriage to C M Fordyce on Feb 25, 1892. To this union nine children were born, Mrs Myrtle Ogle, Lester J and Everett W, all of Powersville, Mo, Millard of Midwest, Wyoming and Carl, Pearl, Lloyd, Helen and Clark of Gillette. One son, Everett, died on Oct 25th, 1925. Besides her husband and children, Mrs Fordyce is survived by her parents, Mr and Mrs J H Greer of Clio, Iowa, one sister, three brothers, and six grandchilddren.

Mrs Ogle and daughter and Mr and Mrs Lester J Fordyce of Powersville, Mo, and Millard A Fordyce of Midwest were all able to arrive here in time for the funeral service. Out of town friends who came included Mr and Mrs Fred Noland and Mr and Mrs Alfred Roberts of Sheridan.

Mrs Fordyce, since coming to Gillette, had won a place in the hearts of all those who knew her, and a host of friends mourn her loss remembering her as a loving mother and sincere friend.
