HOLLAND - Mary A. (Fowler) Hoy, 91, of Sturbridge Rd., died Saturday at a local nursing home in Southbridge. Born in Pownal, VT, she has been a resident of Holland since 1944. She worked at Monson Developmental Center for many years and retired as a supervisor. Mary was a member of the Holland Congregational Church and was a former member of the Holland Women's Club. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was predeceased by her husband, Alpheus H. Hoy in 1986. Mary leaves her children, Thomas Hoy of Monson, Alpheus Hoy, Jr. of Southbridge, John Hoy of W. Springfield, Alice H. Hunt and Betsy E. Palmer, both of Holland, Jane M. Couch of DeSoto, TX, Bertha A. Paucher of Wernersville, PA and Gertrude I. Ready of Rawlins, WY. She leaves a brother, Robert Fowler and a sister, Rachel Mason, both of Pownal, VT; nineteen grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2-5 p.m. at the Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge St., Monson with a funeral service held at 5 p.m. Burial will be held Thursday at Southlawn Cemetery in Williamstown, MA at 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brimfield Ambulance Service, Inc., which serves Holland, Brimfield and Wales, 34 Wales Road, Brimfield, MA 01010.
