Emil Alexander Larson was born November 15, 1901, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Carl Axel and Emma (Knutson) Larson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Spring Creek Lutheran Church of Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County. He attended rural school in District 102, Swede Prairie Township, and District 29 in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County. He was a member of Israel Church most of his life.

He spent all his life on the farm with the exception of the last three winters which were spent in Clarkfield.

He is survived by eight sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Ellen Hanson of Madison, Minnesota, Mrs. John Kompelien (Esther) of Minneota, Minnesota, Mrs. A. Ray Anderson (Grace) of Willmar, Minnesota, Mrs. Ruby Gordon, Mrs. Ruth Nelson, Mrs. Arne Berg (Edith), Velmin, Olaf, Mrs. Gladys Soppeland, Mrs. Merle Nikolaisen (Dorothy) all of Clarkfield; 31 nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Charlotte Larson of Bloomington, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lloyd.
