"Former longtime Alaska resident Emogene Ransdell, 81, of Boise, Idaho, died March 27, 1999, at home. A private family service will be at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise.
Mrs. Ransdell was born July 24, 1917, in Monroe County, Mo., and raised in Missouri. She married Kip Ransdell on March 24, 1935, in Paris, Mo. She and her family lived in Alaska from the mid-1940s until 1960, when they moved to Boise. Her family wrote: ''She loved her life and experiences in Alaska, the beauty of the land and her many, many friends. She was a woman of many talents and excelled in everything she tried. She loved the outdoors, gardening, sewing, cooking, painting and every child, grandchild and great-grandchild born in her family. Her husband was the light of her life. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.''
Mrs. Ransdell is survived by her daughters, Nancy Seljestad of Zillah, Wash.; daughter, Dixie Janss of Boise; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Life's Doors Hospice, P.O. Box 5754, Boise, ID 83705."
Emogene was a loving, kind wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was everything to her. She was a perfectionist in everything she did, from gardening to sewing to playing crossword puzzles.
She was a cancer survivor when surgery was fairly new in the 1940's. To sum her up, hers was a life well lived.
