Funeral services for John Schema, who passed away August 12 after a lingering illness, were held at the Immaculate Conception Church at 9 a. m. on Monday, Aug. 16. The Rev. Philip Engele of North Battleford, Sask, Canada, officiated at the Solemn High Mass, assisted by the Rev. William McGrade and the Rev. F. L. Tschann. Interment was made in Calvary Cemetery. The pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased: Henry Schema, Charles Schema, Frank, John, George and Albert DeCoux, all of Faribault. Relatives and friends from out-of-town attending the funeral were Mrs. Evelyn Weishaar and son, Marlin, and daughters, Eloda and LaVon, all of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Schema of Minneapolis, and others from Minneapolis, Austin, Rose Creek, Kenyon, Northfield and Dundas. The deceased was born on Jan. 29, 1893, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schema Sr. of Chicago. When he was a child the family moved to Erin Township and later to Walcott Township where he grew to manhood. After spending a short time in service during World War I, Mr. Schema was married to Mary Pineur on June 16, 1920. In 1930 they moved to Wells Township, where he resided until a short time before his death. Mr. Schema passed away at the home of his brother, Charles Schema in Faribault. Survivors are two sons: Edward and Roger; five grandchildren; one sister: Mrs. Julius DeCoux; and four brothers: Anton, Frank, and Charles Schema of Faribault and Theodore Schema of Minneapolis. Mrs. Schema preceded her husband in death in June, 1947.
