Mr. Best was employed for 31 years as an operating engineer in the powerhouse of Owens-Illinois Glass Company. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Clarion, the Loyal Order of Moose 101 in Clarion and Quarter Century Club of Owens-Illinois.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are: one son, Francis C. Best Jr. of Lucinda RD 1; a daughter , Mrs Hutch (Patricia) King of Knox; three grandchildren; his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Best of Clarion RD 1; three brothers, Thomas, Lloyd and Arthur, all of Clarion RD 2; two sisters, Mrs. Ross (Lucy) Hartzell of Knox and Mrs. Edwin (Irene) Betchner of Clarion RD 2. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother.
Friends may call at anytime, while the family will receive friends from 1 to 4 pm and 7 lo 9 pm today in the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion, where services will be held al 2 pm Tuesday, with Rev. Richard Holzer, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church of Clarion, officiating. Burial will be in Cederview Memorial Park.
