Nolan Albert Rosan of 2950 19th St. died Tuesday at Boulder Community Hospital. He was 83.
Mr. Rosan, a retired Boulder High School teacher, was born in Perry County, IL, on Nov. 24, 1902. He was the son of John Preston and Belle Lively Rosan.
He married Ethel Carr on Dec. 7, 1941, in Illinois.
Mr. Rosan received a bachelor's degree from Ewing College in Illinois in 1925. He later earned a master's degree from the University of Michigan.
He was a teacher from 1925 until 1968, when he retired.
He moved to Boulder in August 1959 to accept a position at Boulder High School.
Mr. Rosan is survived by his wife of Boulder, a son, Richard Rosan, also of Boulder; a daughter Deborah Wiggins of Joliet, IL; a sister Flossine Hawn of Herrin, IL; a brother Norton Rosan of Decatur, IL; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11am Friday at Howe Mortuary chapel, with the Rev. Richard P. Olsen of the First Baptist Church officiating. Services will conclude at the chapel.
Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
