Born to Jonathan Fassett Jr (1745-1826) and Mary Montague (1746-1826). He married Anna Safford ca. 1798, daughter of David Safford and Anna Brewster of Cambridge, Lamoille, VT. They had several children. He came to Penfield with his father who founded Penfield ca. 1791. After the death of Anna, he married Sarah Davis (1785-1876) in ca. 1828, widow of Edmond Parmenter.
