She passed away December 4, 2011 in Canton, TX.

Mrs. Cross was born January 7, 1922 in Canton, TX, to C. D. and Ada Monroe Wilhite.

She was a member of the Church of Christ on Big Rock in Canton. She lived in Van Zandt County most of her life. She loved to refurbish antiques and she enjoyed gardening.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lee Cross, son, Jimmy Mintz, 4 brothers and 7 sisters.

Surviving are: her sons, Ronald Mintz and Stephen Cross of Canton, TX; daughter-in-law, Marie Mellott of Canton, TX;
daughter: Midge Delilah McRoy of Van, TX; nine grandchildren, Shawn Mintz, Shane Mintz, Jimmy McRoy, Clifford Mintz, Danny McRoy, Ronnie McRoy, Cooper Cross, Walker Cross, Eryn Mintz; 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers are Ron Mintz, Shawn Mintz, Shane Mintz, Rebel Mintz, Austin Mintz, Jimmy McRoy, Stephen Cross and Clifford Mintz.
