The first settler and founder of Albion, Michigan. Mr. Peabody, who went by his middle name "Tenney," (his first name was really Paul), was the son of David and Eunice (Cross) Peabody. He married Eleanor Thompson in 1814, and the couple had 11 children. He arrived with his family in the spring of 1833 to the "Forks" of the Kalamazoo River. He erected the first house in Albion, and was a part of the Albion Company which developed the community. A State of Michigan historical marker has been placed near the site of the first home in Albion.
