Services for O'Emil O. Belcher, 56, RR Lebanon (New Brunswick area) were Friday afternoon, Feb. 20, with Brother Jim W. Dawes officiating at the Russell and Hitch Funeral Home, Lebanon. Following the funeral, burial was in the Lincoln Memory Gardens, rural Whitestown. Belcher died at Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, Tuesday evening, Feb. 17 (1981). He had suffered a heart attack. Born Sep. 27, 1924, Belcher served between 1944-46 in World War II. A self-employed milk hauler since 1951, he also was employed 14 years at Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motors Corporation, Indianapolis. Survivors include his wife, the former Madonna Wethington who he married on Aug. 31, 1947; a son, John A. Belcher, at home; and two daughters, Mrs. Allyn (Teresa) Hograve, North Salem, and Miss Janet K. Belcher, at home. Other survivors are a brother, Charles Wesley Belcher, RR Lebanon; and five sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Fern) Sullivan, RR Lebanon, Mrs. Oletha Scott, Indianapolis, Mrs. Ercell (Helen Louise) Merritt, Lizton, Mrs. Nina Holland, Lebanon, and Mrs. Aaron (Dortha) Merritt.
