1.) MRS. W. E. PRALL IS DEAD HERE
"Notable Community and Church Worker Succumbes
After Three Weeks Severe Illness"
Following an illness of nearly three weeks, Mrs. Wilber E. Prall passed peacefully away on Monday morning at her home in Lamoni at the age of 46 years, 5 months, 20 days. Through her death, the community and the church lost one of their most efficient and enthusiastic workers in a civic capacity [as] many of the major organizations have received her support.

For several years she has served as chairman of the local Red Cross membership committee and as such has brought credit to her town by exceeding assigned quotas. She has served in administrative ways in the Community Club. For many years she has been a zealous member of the Patronessess of Graceland society. At different times she has served as an executive officer and at the time of her death was completing her third year as president.

In a church capacity, she has stood by the side of her husband unwaveringly during the seven years while he has served as pastor of the Lamoni branch. The many civic responsibilities, the exacting social duties, and at times the extended hours of work elicited no complaint or dissatisfaction, but always received that unpretentious support that added to the possibilities of her ministerial work.

Lena Maud, the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Church, was born in Lamoni February 8, 1884. In Lamoni, she received her education and later established her home. After completing the public school course, she attended Graceland college and was graduated from the piano department in 1903.

She was married to Wilber E. Prall November 29, 1905, and this fall they had planned to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. All of their 25 years of wedded life have been spent here, where they have grown and builded [sic] with the town. Into their home came three children, Carl, Dorothy, and Lois, now developing into young manhood and womanhood.

Her parents being whole-hearted [Reorganized] Latter Day Saints, Lena was ready to make her choice at an early age, and was baptized by her uncle, Asa Cochran, into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, July 3, 1892. This has ever since been the church of her profession, her choice, and her ideals.

In family life she was a companion to her children, sharing their pastimes and problems. Their education and social life were affairs of interest to her, and the activities of the youth of her circle of acquaintance could be shared in her life.

Husband and three children remain in the home. There are also her father and mother, and two brothers, Arthur B., of Independence, Mo.; and Charles F., Jr., of Bowling Green, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the [R.] L. D. S. church, in charge of Apostle J. F. Garver, Elder Roy Cheville, Mr. Prall's councellor [sic] in the Lamoni Stake Presidency, preached the sermon.

The floral tributes were very profuse, expressions of the appreciation, interest, and sorrow of those who are left to mourn, and to whom the passing of this good woman is a distinct loss. Many beautiful emblems were sent from branches in other parts of the stake as well as from friends in all walks of life here.

2.) Lena's ancestry goes up to both the Mayflower and the following ship, Anne. She was the 36th generation away from Earl Rognwald, King of Norway, A.D. 900. This link relates her to William the Conqueror who was seven generations from the king.
