Jon Ellen Ford Kennemer was my cousin, but she was better than a sister. She was my life-long best friend and soul-mate. As an adult, she gave her heart and soul, not only to her family, her husband, children, and parents, but to the many 7th-grade children she taught. Even though she was a wife and mother in her 30s, she went to college and got her teacher's degree.
At the young age of 41, she began to suffer from brain cancer, and fought it for more than 13 years, before the cancer won when she was only 52 years old. It was hard years for her. I'm thankful her suffering finally ended and she could wake up in the arms of God and suffer no more, but we, who are still here, miss her so.
I miss her and all the laughter she provided more than I can say, but I know she's got all the folks in God's Heaven in stitches with her dry sense of humor.
