John Aloyosus Mroshinskie (1888-1954) at first worked at the city market for the fruit merchant. He later worked at the silk company in Bethlehem, then learned the plumbing profession as an apprentice to Hellertown plumber Harry A. Dietrich. He rode to work in a wagon with coach dog at his side. In 1922, he opened his own plumbing company from his home at 938 Itaska Street in south Bethlehem in home built by his father, Matthew. John wanted his last name easier to pronounce so he altered it to Mroshinskie. John was a very strict, religious Polish Catholic. He met his wife Anna Marie Albect at a Catholic fraternity dance in nearby Jim Thorpe.

They had six children. His two sons, Francis and John, assisted in the business. John and Anna would ride the train in the 1950s to Louisiana to visit their son Francis and his family regularly. Their visits were well remembered by these people. He was a jolly, fat man with silver hair, big Polish ears, and a broad smile with a warm laugh. Still active as a devout Knight of St. George, he attended church conventions. The Mroshinskies were to go to a convention in September 1954. After working hard to trim his bushes on the morning of September 3 while Anna packed for trip he went to church for confession then to downtown to buy new shoes for the trip. After leaving the store, he was strickened with a heart attack, collapsed, and died in downtown Bethlehem. Downing & Son Funeral Home, 1001 Broadway, Bethlehem, handled the funeral arrangements. His funeral mass was held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church and burial was near his brother Andy's grave in Holy Ghost Cemetery.

After John's death, Anna and her three daughters Marie, Helen, and Josephine, continued to reside at the family home. In January, 1974, Anna suffered a stroke and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital where she died peacefully Jan. 28, 1974. Her funeral mass was held at Holy
Ghost and she was buried next to her husband. Matching granite markers mark their resting places on the second row, right side, of the lovely cemetery. Francis J. Connell Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
