Thomas Sam(p)son, husband of Catherine Heiffner and father of (1) John, (2) James H., (3) Philip, (4) Elizabeth Elvira, (5) an unknown daughter, (6) Thomas D., (7) George W., (8) Margaret C., (9) Francis Marion, and (10) Sarah M. Sampson. Because Thomas and Catherine were Charter Members of the Friendship Baptist Church, established in 1854, and because Catherine and some of her children were listed in the 1860 census as living near Villanowa Post Office, East Armuchee District, Walker County, Georgia, and because Francis Marion Sampson's first wife, Lucinda E. (nee Sarrett) Sampson, is buried in Friendship Cemetery, it is reasonable to believe that Thomas is buried there also, in an unmarked grave.
