SHELBURNE FALLS - Gilbert J. Allen, 73, of Creamery Avenue. a production manager for 37 years for Kendall Co. of Colrain, died Friday at Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield. He retired in 1976. Born in Buckland, he was a 1932 graduate of the former Arms Academy and a 1937 graduate of Bluefield College, West Virginia, and North Carolina State University. He was an Arms Library trustee and a member of the Kendall Old-Timers. He leaves his wife, the former Marguerite Call; two sons, John [sic] of Ferrisburg, Vt., and Joseph of St. Louis. Mo.; a daughter, Malah Davis of Brookfield, Pa.; a brother, Gorden, and a sister, Madeline Davis, both of Buckland, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Tuesday morning at Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home with burial in Branch Cemetery, Colrain. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arms Library Association, Shelburne Falls, 01370.
