Rose M. Hansen, age 89, of Glendive, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care in Glendive.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive. Rite of Committal will be in the Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Rose was born on March 8, 1915 in Dickinson, North Dakota, the daughter of Anton and Margeret (Meckler) Folz. She moved with her family to Glendive when she was eight years old and was raised and educated in Glendive. She quit school during the depression and went to work at Douglas and Meade Department Store to bring money home for the family. She married John G. Hansen on July 17, 1943 in Glendive. During World War II, they were stationed in Harlingen, Texas and returned to Glendive where they spent the rest of their lives. John preceded Rose in death in 1986.
Rose was a member of the SoNu Homemakers Club and Sacred Heart Quilters. Rose was a wonderful seamstress and great cook. She enjoyed taking walks. Rose was a terrific wife, mother, grandma and great grandma.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Barth and her husband Don of Hinkley, Minnesota, June Hansen and Gary Littell of Billings, Montana and Barbara Anvik and her husband Rolly of Glendive; one brother, Frank Folz of Silverton, Idaho; three sisters, Mary Pomeroy of Mesa, Arizona, Helen Hathaway of Rancho Murieta, California and Pauline Coleman of Glendive; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
