Funeral services for Jessie Lee Tays, 91, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bessie Wiggs of the Church of God of Prophecy of Gillette officiating,
Burial will follow in Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Stevenson-Wilson funeral Home.
Mrs. Tays died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes.
She was born July 15, 1910, to George and Ada (Rothwell) Morrow in Denver.
She moved with her family to Rocky Point when she was a young girl. She attended rural schools and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1929.
On June 5, 1934, she married Roy Tays in Denver. After their marriage, they lived at their ranch near Recluse. Mrs. Tays received her teaching certificate and taught school in Campbell County. In 1946 they moved to Gillette.
She worked a a secretary for the county agent's office for more than 20 years. After retirement in 1969 she moved to Queen Valley, Ariz. with her husband.
She enjoyed life and was never bored. Her hobbies included needlepoint, crocheting, traveling, golfing and crossword and word search puzzles and she loved to read. She is a member of the Rebekah's.
Mrs. Tays is survived by her daughter, Wanita Means of Gillette; one sister, Ada Marion Collins of buffalo; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 29, 1972; three brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial has been established to Pioneer Manor Nursing Home and donations may be sent in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. Fifth St., Gillette, WY 82716.
