Member of Battery A, 987th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, IX Corps. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on June 12, 1953. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. His body was never recovered. This is one of three cenotaph's in his memory.

His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
