Early Life: Paul was born September 15, 1938, in Provo, Utah, to Stephen Nelson and Florence Elizabeth Durrant Abbott. He grew up in Provo where he helped his grandfather, John Henry Durrant, raise turkeys. He graduated from Provo High School.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Paul attended Central Utah Vocational School in Provo. He was interested in carpentry and wood trades. He was married to Julie Rae Nelson, of Salt Lake City; they later divorced. Paul had two adopted children, Jeremy Paul and Denise Rosemeri. He worked at Karman Kitchens, Salt Lake City, for over ten years. He also helped his cousins with the cabinet-making business, in Preston, Idaho. He lived the majority of his life in West Valley City, Salt Lake City and Provo. He was an easygoing, friendly fellow who loved music, movies and collecting model trains. Stephen Paul Abbott passed away on the morning of Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center due to heart failure. He was 68.
Survived By: Two adopted children, Jeremy Paul and Denise Rosemeri; three surviving brothers and one sister: Ronald Kent (Sue Ann), of Pleasant Grove; Thomas Edwin (Dianne), of Alpine; Gary Nelson (Linda), of Payson; and Irene Elizabeth Thompson (Merrill), of Clearfield.
Preceded In Death By: His parents and two brothers, Orland Kay and Kenneth Jay.
